This building under construction is enlighted because they are actively building it during the night. This is normal in Chiang Mai.

Today I bought some Rambutan fruits from a street vendor.
And I’ve visited a Buddhist temple near here. I don’t know the name.
Buddha and cat. A little cat escaped from a dog and found shelter near the big Budda.

In the evening I went to have dinner in a Chinese restaurant from Yunnan. I took three flavors prawn and rice. However after that I was still hungry so at home I ate some rambutan, a banana, a yogurt, soy milk and two toasts with jam.
Today I’ve made a little walk around the Mae Ping River in Chiang Mai and I’ve crossed a big bridge and a small iron bridge.

I’m settled in Chiang Mai, it’s a good place for working. Lately there has been a lot of rain, and there is some little flooding. I think the situation will be worse a month later when it will rain more and more.

The three wheelers parked is a tuk tuk, a typical “taxi” in Thailand.

I am trying to eat more fruit and vegetables, because when traveling it’s easy to eat less of those. Today I had some mangosteen. Inside they look a little like garlic, but the taste is very good. I’ve never seen them sold in Italy.

Yesterday I flew from Bangkok to Chiang Mai with Air Asia.

Waiting for my backpack in Chiang Mai.
My first worry was to find a good accommodation for a Month. My friend Dao gave me her motorbike to go around easily. I saw about 5 places. This one for instance has a great daily rent (350 baht – 7,3 euro with air conditioning).

And the room looks good too, even if it’s a bit small (and no fridge). With monthly rent it costs 7000 baht, without bills (145,8 euro). Not too expensive but cheaper and good accommodation is readily available in Chiang Mai.

And this is the room I choose and where I got my monthly rent, for 4500 baht (93,75 euro). They also want 5000 baht for deposit, that will be given back at the end of the rent.

This accommodation is great because it has a big room, bathroom with shower and hot water, many cupboards, big and new fridge, fan, phone, new air conditioner, big bed, sofa, big Sony TV with over 50 channels and also a balcony.

Further it’s in a central place of Chiang Mai, but it’s very silent at night since a bit off the main street.

The bills have to be payed extra: 100 baht for water (2,08 euro), no matter how much it’s used. And 6 baht per kW for electricity (0,12 euro / kW). My meter reads 5387 kW when I got in the room.
